Google Tiffany Eckhart song 'Zuccini Cake'
Victorian singer/songwriter Tiffany Eckhart jokes that no-one dares
leave their car unlocked in her little town at this time of year
because of the danger of finding it filled with local gardeners
excess zuccinis :)
like most gardeners, Tiffany hates to waste the fruits of her
gardening labour, so grates zucchini into salads & pasta,
roasts big ones stuffed with cooked grains, herbs & vegies
and loves her friends Chocolate Zuccini Cake recipe.
...which inspired her v cute song 'Zuccini Cake'
...so I had to smile today to see 2 large zuccini in the basket
of someones bike parked next to the garden
....and another 2 at the downhill entrance to the garden
hope they're well used by the lucky harvesters!

I popped in the above seedlings today
- please give them a drink when you pop by
as warmer days are forecast this week.
While tidying up the garden and repairing (sigh!)
the senselessly vandalised end trellis fence
today I discovered lots of mixed bean seeds
in some of the streetside beds so watch for them
to sprout over the coming months.
Happy Easter everyone!

note to potplant gardeners
When replacing nutrient-depleted potting mix, a great use for it
is layering it over foodscraps in worm farms or compost bins so it helps
create rejuvenated soil :).....wellkept wormfarms live happily in small
spaces or find friends with compost bins if space is an issue.
PLEASE DON'T put used potting mix straight onto the foodgarden
as this actually starts drawing nutrients out of the garden's carefully
nurtured soil and away from the plants that need it :(
